L'ETONNANTE GIVRY EN BOURGOGNE
Voilà une ville à la campagne qui compte des édifices exceptionnels et ô combien rares! Jugez plutôt : une curieuse église bâtie en pleine Révolution (1791) dont la flèche en forme de pyramide domine un octogone et un dôme. C'est l'oeuvre d'Emiland Gauthey (1732-1806), le talentueux ingénieur-architecte à qui l'on doit le Canal du Centre et d'autres merveilles. LOVELY GIVRY IN BURGUNDY
Givry is a real town in the countryside. Here the quality of architecture is exceptional as much for houses or public edifices and the church is quite remarkable. It was achieved in 1791, during the French Revolution and certainly is the most curious of the region, with its pyramid-shaped spire overlooking an octagon covered with a vast dome. Emiland Gauthey (1732-1806) was the architect of this most original edifice. The talented engineer and architect of the XVIIIth century namely designed the "Canal du Centre".
